![]() After completion of the unit, the children will be able to explain why storytelling is important, why people from diverse cultures tell stories, and how such stories teach messages, morals, or lessons. Students will read, recount key details, and offer their written opinions regarding fables, folktales, and myths from diverse cultures. Third graders at Oakleigh have completed the Unit I ELA unit and are moving forward with Unit 2, entitled “Stories that Teach”. ![]() Be sure to ask your child about things that are moved by magnets and things that are powered by electricity. Please remember to go through the steps to solving story problems with your child as they complete their homework each night.įinally, we have completed our geography social studies unit and started our second science unit that focuses on magnets and electricity. In math, our students have finished unit 2, which focused on geometry and we have moved on to unit 3, which focuses on addition, subtraction and number systems. Please practice high frequency and phonics words each night to help your student become fantastic readers!
